Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin was born in the year 1889 on 16th April. He was born to Charles and Hannah Chaplin. As per Charlie, he believed that he was born in South London in East Street. Charlie’s parents were performers as they worked as music hall entertainers.
In the year 1891, the parents were estranged. In the year 1892, Charlie’s mother gave birth to another son. Charlie Chaplin’s life was not easy! He was stricken with poverty and there was a lot of hardship as well.

In the year 1898, Hannah was admitted to a mental asylum. During this time, Sydney and Charlie went to live with their father, who had a serious case of alcoholism. Chaplin Sr. died 2 years later and Hannah would fall ill every single time she back from the asylum.
