Born as Kevin Ferguson in the year 1974 on the 8th of Feb, in the Bahamas, he along with his family moved to America. He stayed in Florida with his mother and two brothers. He attended Bel-Air Elementary School and got involved in the first fight of his life when he was just thirteen. In his defense, he was only defending his friend. Kevin continued the remaining studies from Cutler Ridge School and then went to Richmond Heights for his high schooling.
He also went to Miami Palmetto, which was another high school and here he became the star middle linebacker. His Florida home was destroyed by the Andrew Hurricane in 1992, which led him to spend 1 whole month in his Nissan Pathfinder.
Kevin did his college from Bethune-Cookman University, as well as University of Miami, over here he also received a scholarship in athletics, and went on to study criminal justice.
Kevin had a total of six children, three of which are boys, and other three are daughters. On the 5th of June in 2016, Kevin had to be admitted to Hospital, unfortunately, he could not be saved, and died of a heart failure. There had been a diagnosis of a mass present on his liver. All his family, along with his fans were shocked by his untimely death.
Kevin also started his career in a more humble way and did not dive right into martial arts. He started his career by being a bouncer in one of the popular strip clubs. This is where his he met one of his friends from high school, who was now a manager. Mike Imber offered him a chance to be a driver and bodyguard to none other than RK Netmedia, which was known more by the name Reality Kings, and was a Miami based adult content production company running multiple porn websites.
Before getting into sanctioned street fights, Kevin started with unsanctioned mutual combats that were spread through the internet, with one of the adult websites and a few other video streaming platforms. He had a fight with one of the renowned fighters Big D and ended up giving him a cut on the eye. This made him popular among users as ‘Slice’. Which was later combined with one of his childhood names ‘Kimbo’, thus making him popular as Kimbo Slice.
He forayed in sanctioned mixed martial arts against Ray Mercer who was a former Heavyweight Champion. They fought in the Cage Fury Fighting Championship on the 23rd of June in 2007. Slice was able to defeat his opponent and successfully claim victory. After getting into both the sanctioned as well as the unsanctioned street fights, there was no stopping him. He went on fighting and making a name for himself in the field till his last breath.
