Scottie was born in the year 1965, on 25th of September in Hamburg, Arkansas. He is the youngest of his 12 siblings to parents Ethel and Preston Pippen. The height of both of his parents was 6 feet or more, thus giving him an even greater height. Scottie was the tallest of all his siblings.
Scottie did his schooling at Hamburg High School and played as a point guard over there. It was because of him that the team qualified till state playoffs. This helped him win all-conference honors as their senior but still did not get a college scholarship. Scottie was from a poor family, and his father did not have the money to send him to college, he somehow got into the University of Central Arkansas and there started his college playing journey.
He was noticed by the head coach of his university but failed to get recognition as the school played only in NAIA.
