He is most popularly known for his work in Marvel Comics who then went on to found independent company named Image Comics. Born in 1964 (August 11), in Seoul, South Korea, Jim had a normal middle-class family childhood. He was brought up in St Louis Missouri where he went to River Bend Elementary School and then to St Louis Country Day School.
During his school days itself, his interest drew towards drawing. He used to draw posters and one of his senior also predicted him to own a comic book company in future. But opposed to that Lee joined Princeton University with Psychology as honors to practice Medicine.

In 1992, Jim along with his 6 artists friends co-founded “Image Comics” and formed his own production company called “Wildstorm Productions”. Image Comics successfully created GEN13 and WILDCATS but Lee left the company in 1998 along with selling his production company Wildstorm productions to DC Comics.
The very same year, 1998, Lee joined DC Comics’ Creative department and went to explore new characters and books. His other well-known works include Justice League of America, All-star Batman, Superman Unchained and many more.
