Robert Lawrence Stine was born to parents Anne Feinstein and Lewis Stine in Columbus, Ohio on October 8, 1943. He was raised in Bexley, Ohio.
He started writing when he was nine years old. In 1965, Stine graduated with a BA in English from the Ohio State University. In there, he used to serve as the editor of the college magazine called ‘The Sundial’ for three years.
