Tina Louise was born as Tatiana Josivovna Chernova Blacker. She was born to Jewish parents in the city of New York. When she was four years old, her parents divorced, and she moved on to live her mother. Her mother worked as a model. Betty Horn Blacker was her mother’s name. Louise’s father, Joseph Blacker, worked as a candy store owner and then as an accountant. “Louise” was a middle name, Tina herself had chosen during her high school days. She did so because she was the only girl in her class without a middle name and randomly chose “Louise.” After school, Louise went on to study at the Miami University in Ohio.
