David Gilmour is an English singer, guitarist and songwriter who is best known as a member of Pink Floyd rock band. David Gilmour was born in 1946 on 6th March to Douglas Gilmour and Sylvia. His father was a senior lecturer in the subject of zoology at the University of Cambridge. On the other hand, his father was a trained leader. Later, she became BBC’s film editor. His birthplace was Trumpington, Cambridgeshire. They moved from one place to another but eventually settled in Grantchester Meadows in 1956.
At the age of eleven, Gilmour joined the Perse School, Cambridge. He later started attending Cambridge Technical College.
