Michael Stephen Portnoy was born on April 20, 1967, in the Long Island in Long Beach, New York. His father served as the DJ in a radio station and further shifted to California where he joined KRML radio station in 1971 and his mother passed away in an incident happen when she was travelling on the plane with her boyfriend at Atlantic City in 1984.
