Born as Jaime Royal Robertson on July 5, 1943, in Toronto, Canada, Robbie Robertson is a Canadian guitarist, singer, songwriter, actor, author, and record producer. He is the only child of his mother, Rose Marie Chrysler, and his father, Alexander David Klegerman. His father was a Jew and worked as a professional gambler. His mother worked in a jewelry plating factory.
When Robbie was a toddler, his father Alexander died in a road accident. After the death of his father, his mother married James Patrick Robertson who adopted Robbie. When Robbie was a child, her mother travelled in different cities, so he could never focus on his studies. He briefly attended some local school but left it midway in order to pursue his career in music. He had interest in music since his childhood, so he strived hard to become a musician.
