Yo-Yo Ma was born on 7th October 1955 in Paris, France to Marina Lu and Hiao- Tsiun Ma. Yo-Yo Ma belongs to a Chinese family. His father was a violinist. Hiao- Tsiun Ma worked as a professor of music at the Nanjing National Central University. His mother was a singer.
