Adam Savage Early Life
Adam Whitney Savage was born on 15th July 1967 in New York City. He is the son of Whitney Lee Savage of Sesame Street fame. His mother is a psychotherapist.
Adam has 5 siblings’; two brothers and three sisters. His younger sister Kate is also an artist.
Adam finished his school graduation from the Sleepy Hollow High School. He also went to an acting school for five years. Later on, he attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts but left the course after 6 months.

As a child, Adam worked as a voice artist in his father’s TV show Sesame Street. After graduating from high school, he continued his acting streak by appearing in a commercial and a music video.
In the 1990’s Adam turned to San Francisco where he pursued his first love-designing. He worked for various companies like Nike, Coca-Cola and Burger King as a prop maker, set designer, art director, and producer.
He then became the head of the R&D department of a toy company ZOOB. After working there for 18 months, he returned to the film industry.
He was employed by the George Lucas’s Industrial Light and Magic visual effects company, and he worked on several projects with them. Some of his notable contributions include Star Wars-Attack of the clones, Bicentennial Man and the Matrix sequels.
During this time he also taught in the Academy of Art College, San Francisco.
