Leslie Moonves, named Leslie Roy Moonves at birth, was born on the 6th of October, 1949 in Valley Stream, New York City to Josephine Schleifer and Herman Moonves. His mother worked as a nurse and he has two siblings, a sister named Melissa Moonves Colon and a brother named Jonathan Moonves. After completing his schooling from the Valley Stream Central High School, Leslie enrolled himself at Bucknell University from where he graduated with a Spanish major in 1971. His passion for acting led him to attend The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in NYC, where he got the chance to essay a few roles in a number of plays. After graduation, he moved to Manhattan in order to pursue acting as a career, but soon moved behind the camera disappointed with the series of ordinary roles (like in ‘Canon’ and ‘The Six Million dollar Man’) that came his way.
