Richard Hammond Early Life
Richard Hammond was born in 1969, 19th December as Richard Mark Hammond. His birthplace was Solihull, Warwickshire in England. His mother is Eileen Hammond and father being Alan Hammond. He has two brothers namely Andrew and Nicholas. Andrew is a Crypt Series writer.
The family migrated to North Yorkshire in the 1980s to join Hammond’s father who was working in his own business there.
Richard went to Blossomfield Infant School based in Shirley. He was three years of age by then. On reaching seven years, Hammond went to Solihull School which was a private boys’ independent school. Having attained his degree in 1988, Hammond had no other options except to look for a place to work. He settled at British Broadcasting Co-operation stations. Hammond worked for the co-operation in different radio stations like Radio York, Radio Leeds and Radio Cleveland. He also worked for Radio Cumbria and Radio New castle not leaving behind Radio Lancashire.
Richard left the radio stations and auditioned for Top Gear. He was allowed to present in 2002 in the format it is today. His fans nicknamed him The Hamster for his body size. In series seven of Top Gear show presenters were filming. The crush was near York and made Hammond unable to continue until 2007 when he returned in the series 9.
