Robert Edward Turner was born in 1983, 19th November. His birthplace is Cincinnati, Ohio. Ted’s hometown was Atlanta, Georgia. Robert was the son of Florence and Robert Edward Turner Senior who erected billboards for business purposes. At the age of nine, his family moved to Georgia at a place called Savannah.
Turner went to study at The Mc Callie School. The school was a private institution for boys based in Chattanooga in Tennessee Province. From Mc Callie, the vice-president in Club of Brown Debating Union. He was also made the captain of the team that promoted sailing. At first, Turner specialised in classics but later changed to Economics. Turner was not lucky in the university as he was caught in a case of indiscipline by taking a girl student in his place of sleep. The case’s verdict was a severe one.
He had to leave school before graduating with a diploma in Economics. Turner returned to Brown University after the call of National Association of College Broadcasters. He was summoned to keynote the Association during their second annual conference. That was when he was earned a degree in Bachelor of Arts in 1989 November.
Turner’s marriage road has not been smooth as he wishes. He has been in three abortive marriages. The first marriage was between him and Judy Nye in 1960 which was over by 1964 through a divorce. In 1965 he took Jane Shirley Smith, but the road became slippery in 1988. He tried luck with actress Jane Florida in 1991 and by 2001 they tasted sour to each other. Ted had five kids.

Turner started Hus business career after leaving Brown University to join his father’s business. He went to work in Macon Georgia as a manager. Hus father’s death was not natural as it was suicidal through it opened doors to high ranks in the business. In 1963, March Turner became the president and CEO of Turner Advertising Company following Hus father’s dead.
By then he was only 24 years of age but miraculously turned the firm into world entrepreneurship. He attached himself to politics through Young Republicans. The period of Vietnam War boosted Turner’s business as it was one of its type in the whole region. The region covered Macon, Savannah and Columbus whose advertising relied on this company.
With the money left by his father, Turner purchased southern radio stations in 1960 and by 1969 sold the stations to buy WJRS channel 17 which was a diminishing television in Atlanta. He called it WTCG.
The station started gradually with old movies backdated to three decades. Dramas and cartoons were not left behind the shows. VHF came about with better signals and bought its products at a better buying price. In 1974 he was licensed to telecast baseball games for Atlanta Braves. He then bought UHF channel 36 and ran it as WTCG.
