Her name has a meaning of ‘Ocean child’. She was born into a wealthy family and also associated with a samurai warrior-scholars clan. Her first interaction with music was at the age of four when she started taking piano lessons. She was born in Tokyo but brought up in Tokyo, San Francisco, and New York due to her father’s transfer.
