Lindsey Graham was born on 9 July, 1955 in Central, South Carolina. A struggling family of four lived in one small room behind the “Sanitary Café” his parents Florence and Millie Graham owned. The Café consisted of a restaurant, a bar beside it, a pool and a liquor store as well.
Lindsey Graham attended the D.W. Daniel High School and was the first person in his family who got to study at a college. Two years into college, Lindsey Graham’s mother and father died just 15 months apart due to Hodgkin’s lymphoma and a major heart attack respectively. After these fateful incidents, Lindsey Graham’s sister, Darline Graham, who was only 13 at that time, became an orphan and had no one to support her. He adopted Darline and shifted to the University of South Carolina in Columbia to take care of her. He graduated with a degree in Psychology majors from there and went on to pursue a J.D. in Law from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
