Bette Midler Early Life
Bette Midler was born in 1945 on 1 December to Ruth and Fred Midler who died in 1986. Midler’s mother was a housewife and a seamstress. On the other hand, her father worked as a painter at a Navy base in Hawaii. She was born and raised in Area, Honolulu.
Midler went to Radford High School and graduated in 1963. She later joined the University of Hawaii in Manoa majoring in drama. Midler did not complete her studies as she left after three semesters.
Midler and an author called Martin von Haselberg in 1984 on 16th December. This was only six weeks after meeting for the first time. They welcomed their first born in 1986 on 14th November. The couple named her Sophie von Haselberg.

In 1970, she began singing in the Continental Baths which is a Gay bathhouse in Ansonia Hotel. Two years later a piano accompanist who she had become close to known as Barry Manilow produced her debut album. It was titled The Divine Miss M. Her second album was Bathhouse Bettie.
Before that, she had her first professional production which was a starring role in 1971 on the Who’s rock opera Tommy. In 1973, she released a self-titled follow-up album namely Songs of the New Depression, Broken Blossom and Thighs, and Whispers.
In 1983, Milder released an album titled No Frills. For the 1990’s she released Some People’s Lives, Bette of Roses and Bathhouse Betty. Other’s since 2002 include Bette, Sing the Rosemary Clooney Songbook, Cool Yule as well as it’s the Girls.
