Rock music has been defining entire eras for a long time. From the 1970s to the 1990s, different subgenres of rock music have helped angst-filled teenagers understand their emotions and cope with them. Although rock and metal music occasionally get a bad reputation from people who do not understand the music, it has nonetheless indirectly inspired music and lyrics in other genres such as blues, jazz and funk. Many rock bands have now hung up their boots due to the fact that the electronic music genre has sprung up so rapidly. However, few bands with a true passion for the genre, along with their passionate musicians, continue to rock their tunes even to this day. One such amazing musician is Robin Zander. Read on to know more about Robin Zander’s net worth in 2019.
Robin Zander is a native of the state of Wisconsin and was born in the year 1953. He was a musical prodigy and learnt to play the guitar at an advanced level by the time he was twelve years old. This, no doubt, has helped him cement his state as one of the best rhythm guitarists in rock music. He was known for making appearances in school shows, which allowed him to hone his skills in propagating his stage presence.
He was in numerous bands at that age, which was inspired by the sounds of major bands such as The Beatles and even the classy band, the Rolling Stones. This helped him understand his taste in music much better. His singing prowess was also shown as he was a part of the best choral group in his school, for a period of three years. He was athletically gifted as well, participating in various baseball and basketball games for his school. For extra money, he was a part-time worker at sandwich shops.
Robin Zander showed in the performances in three of his early bands that he was a competent singer and a very good rhythm guitarist. When he was still relatively young, he was part of a duo. The duo went by the name of Zander and Kent, in the 1970s. This helped Robin Zander to pick up a contract for three summers, with a residency clause. This was held in Wisconsin Dells. Although Robin Zander is one of the most prominent members of Cheap Tricks, this 1970s contract actually disallowed him from becoming one of the earliest members of Cheap Tricks.
The band, at the time, was still finding its defining sound and was unable to come up with the name of Cheap Tricks itself. So, it was in its earliest phase. However, the lead singer of the band at the time was unable to cope with the rigours of the early phases of the band. He then decided to leave Cheap Tricks in the year of 1974. This was exactly at the time when Robin Zander’s contract for his work at Wisconsin Dells was coming to an end. He then joined Cheap Tricks.
