Helen Folasade Adu was born in 1959 on 16th January to Adebisi Adu and Anne Hayes. Her parents separated when she was less than four years old, and her mother brought her in London. So she was born in Nigeria but was raised in Britain with her older brother Banji.
She completed her schooling at Clacton County High School. Later she went to Saint Martin’s School of Art to get a degree in fashion designing.
