He has two brothers, Guy and Bubba Landry. One of his brothers, Guy Landry, sometimes work with him in the swamp. He is married to Bernita Landry, who is a school teacher, who has been married for 30 years and they together have three sons Jacob, Brandon and Chase Landry.
Troy started working in the Atchafalaya river basin of Louisiana. He is an expert alligator hunter and through which he earns for his living. With some of his co-workers and hunting, they all work and became the focus of the History Channel’s show “Swamp People” which currently going on for its 9th season.
The show primarily focuses on the hunting of alligators during their hunting season which lasts for 30 days. The hunt is required because of the abrupt increase of alligators in the swamp which is needed to be controlled for the safety of people as well as animals living in that region. This work includes the danger of getting hurt or even get killed by the alligators.
The show was started in 2010 and got immense popularity during 2014 where Troy with his fellow hunters and his sons work together for gator hunting. Though it is a dangerous task, they still do it a passion and make their living through it.
